FROM COUNTY SIDE TO THE CITY

The journey from the countryside to the city of Nairobi has impacted a profound shift in environment and lifestyle. This progress has symbolized a good transition for me.

Kenyan countryside emerged through hills, landscapes, and traditional homes. Agriculture is the backbone of the rural economy, with subsistence farming being a common practice. Villages often have limited access to modern amenities, and daily routines are shaped by local weather and daily customs.

The simplicity of rural life actually appreciates nature. Being a village boy, Nairobi has left me knowing more about this city. Nairobi serves as the political and social heart of Kenya, with a population that represents a section of nations with all tribes. It has infrastructure such as shopping malls, international hotels, and an improved transport network.

The city offers a wide range of opportunities in various sectors, either in education, technology, Technology or entertainment. This opportunity attracts more individuals from the countryside looking for an improved quality life, a better life, and to advance their careers. For those making a shift from countryside to the city, it can be both good and bad. It requires good energy to survive in the city and a period of adjustment.

Daily customs and languages may not be unfamiliar. Adapting the daily routine may be challenging but also enriching. One of the primary motivations for moving to Nairobi is the pursuit of better economic opportunities. Urban employment actually requires individuals to adapt quickly and develop their skills. The contrast in living conditions is improved, unlike rural areas, which only offer a closer connection to nature.

Adapting to apartment living, Urban infrastructure and high cost of living can be challenging for new comers. Despite all these challenges, many individuals find that the benefits of living in Nairobi outweigh more of the problems faced in rural areas. The journey from the county side to the city to Nairobi is a testament to the transformative power of urbanization. Transition might be quite challenging, but it also opens doors to new experiences and ways of life.
